Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong said he would renounce his US citizenship and move to England because he was so upset that the Supreme Court overturned the landmark Roe v. Wade abortion case.

The “American Idiot” singer commented in front of a crowd during the band’s London show on Friday. “F— America, I’m giving up my fucking citizenship,” Armstrong said. “I’m fucking here.”

“There’s just too much stupidity in the world to return to that miserable excuse for a country,” Armstrong added. “Oh, I’m not kidding. You’ll get a lot from me in the coming days.’

Armstrong, 50, has been the frontman of Green Day since 1987. He is one of several liberal celebrities who has expressed anger at the Supreme Court’s decision to overthrow Roe. WThe ruling effectively ended recognition of a constitutional right to abortion and gave individual states the power to allow, restrict, or ban the practice altogether. Wade.

Armstrong continued to bash America at Green Day’s show in Huddersfield, England, the following day, according to the Daily Mail. He called the judges “pricks” and said, “f — the Supreme Court of America.”

This is not the first time Armstrong has expressed his distaste for the US. In Green Day’s 2004 hit, “American Idiot,” the band made headlines in the US.

“Don’t wanna be an American idiot / One nation controlled by the media / Information age of hysteria / It goes out to idiot America,” Armstrong sings in the song.

Armstrong was also candid about this distaste for former President Donald Trump. He sang “No Trump, No KKK, no fascist USA” during the band’s performance of the band’s “Bang Bang” at the American Music Awards in 2016.

Armstrong also compared Trump to Hitler in an interview with Kerrang! magazine that same year.

“The worst problem I see with Trump is who his followers are,” the singer told the magazine. “I feel sorry for them because they’re poor working-class people who can’t stand their legs. They’re just pissed off, and he’s prey to their anger.”

He added: “He just said, ‘You have no options, and I’m the only one, and I’m going to take care of it myself.’ I mean, that’s f-king Hitler, man!”
